Website, server and email migration in Canada

Move the system without losing the dependencies around it

Gotekky plans and executes Canadian website, server and email migrations with inventory, testing, DNS coordination, cutover validation and a documented path back if the move does not behave as expected.

The buyer need

The problem this service is designed to solve

This service is for organizations that know the destination is only part of the problem. Websites depend on DNS, certificates, databases, scheduled tasks, email routing, APIs, storage and user access that must move in the right order.

The current provider must be replaced, but nobody has a complete inventory of services and credentials.

A website migration risks breaking mail, DNS, forms, integrations or scheduled jobs.

Server data can be copied, but the application has dependencies that are not documented.

Mailbox users need continuity, preserved history and clear cutover instructions.

Defined responsibility

What Gotekky owns, and what remains outside scope

Useful responsibility starts with written boundaries. The items below are confirmed in the applicable plan or proposal.

Gotekky assumes responsibility for

  • Discovery and inventory of approved websites, servers, mailboxes, DNS and dependencies
  • Destination architecture and migration sequence
  • Pre-copy, staging, testing and change-freeze coordination where appropriate
  • DNS, certificate, mail-flow and cutover management
  • Post-migration validation and issue triage
  • Rollback criteria and preservation of the source for an agreed period when possible

Outside the standard scope

  • Guarantees when the source provider withholds access, data or cooperation
  • Repair of unrelated application defects unless added to the project
  • User training, content cleanup or mailbox organization beyond the migration scope
  • Indefinite operation of both environments after the agreed transition period
Pricing and starting path

Migration pricing follows scope, risk and validation needs

Standard mailbox migrations start at CAD 95 per mailbox and complex mailboxes at CAD 150. Website and server migrations are quoted after discovery. A CAD 395 technical assessment is used when dependencies, access or recovery requirements are unclear.

  • Provider, licence and destination-infrastructure charges are separate.
  • Urgent or compromised migrations may require containment and recovery work first.
  • Ongoing management is quoted separately from the one-time migration.
Anonymized example

Moving an environment after compromise without carrying the problem forward

Gotekky contained a compromised server, identified a safe recovery source, rebuilt the supported environment, restored verified data, reviewed access and persistence risks, and validated services before returning production traffic. The migration path was part of the recovery strategy rather than a blind copy.

Process

How the engagement moves forward

01

Inventory and objectives

We identify every system, owner, dependency, access method, deadline and acceptable interruption.

02

Plan and stage

Gotekky prepares the destination, copies data, lowers DNS TTL where useful and validates a test state.

03

Cut over and verify

Changes are frozen, final data is synchronized, DNS and routing are changed, and business functions are tested.

04

Stabilize and close

Issues are triaged, the source is retained for the agreed period and documentation is handed over or moved into management.

Response expectations

The project plan defines communication and cutover expectations

Each migration receives a written sequence, client responsibilities, validation checklist and escalation contacts. During cutover, Gotekky communicates status at agreed milestones rather than leaving the client to infer progress.

  • Critical business tests are agreed before the move.
  • DNS propagation and third-party provider timing are treated as dependencies, not ignored.
  • Rollback is used when predefined conditions are met and the source remains viable.
Frequently asked questions

Before choosing the service

Can you migrate without downtime?

Some workloads can have very little interruption, but zero downtime is not promised unless the architecture and synchronization method support it.

Can you move a website and email at different times?

Yes. Separating phases can reduce risk when DNS and ownership are mapped carefully.

Do you migrate cPanel, Webuzo and ordinary Linux servers?

Yes, when source access, versions and destination compatibility are suitable.

Can you migrate to another provider instead of Gotekky infrastructure?

Yes. Gotekky can manage approved third-party destinations when responsibilities and access are clear.

What happens if the source is compromised?

Containment and clean recovery take priority. Copying an untrusted environment directly can carry the compromise into the destination.
